What Are The Tempers of Aluminum Coil 1100

August 16, 2024

Due to its excellent performance, 1100 aluminum coil is widely used in many fields, such as CTP/PS substrate, aluminum-plastic plate, lamp material, battery explosion-proof valve and ear material.

1100 aluminum coil usually has the following tempers:

  • O temper: O temperis an aluminum coil in the annealing state. At this time, the 1100 O aluminum coil has higher plasticity and lower strength. It is easy to process and form, but the mechanical strength is relatively low.
  • H12temper: Semi-hard state, the 1100 H12 aluminum coil has a certain hardness and strength, suitable for applications requiring higher strength and compression resistance, such as automobile body panels, ship materials, and building materials.
  • H14temper: Hard state, the 1100 H14 aluminum coil has a higher hardness, and is usually used to manufacture kitchen utensils, decorative materials, lamps and other products that require higher hardness and wear resistance.
  • H16temper: Semi-hard state, the hardness of the 1100 H16 aluminum coil is between H12 and H14, suitable for applications requiring medium strength and hardness, such as building materials, power equipment, etc.
  • H18temper: Hard state, 1100 H18 aluminum coil has the highest hardness, suitable for fields with special requirements, such as aerospace, military industry, etc., which require products with high strength, high hardness and corrosion resistance.

Different tempers of 1100 aluminum coil has different performance, the effects of tempers on performance are:

– Strength: With the increase of work hardening degree (such as from O temper to H temper, or the increase of numbers in H temper), the strength of aluminum coil will also increase accordingly.

– Formability: Aluminum coils with lower work hardening degree (such as O temper) have better formability, while aluminum coils with higher work hardening degree (such as the temper with larger numbers in H state) may have poor formability.

– Corrosion resistance: 1100 aluminum coils in all tempers have good corrosion resistance, but anodizing can further improve its corrosion resistance.

In summary, the tempers of 1100 aluminum coils mainly include O temper and multiple H temper. Different tempers correspond to different work hardening degrees and performance characteristics to meet the application needs of different fields. Choosing the right temper can ensure the performance and quality of the product and improve the service life and safety of the product.
