There are three methods for this. 1) Adsorption coloring, that is, dyeing with organic or inorganic dyes. 2) Electrolytic coloring, that is, electrolysis is performed after anodizing and before sealing, so that the film produces different colors. 3) Natural color development, the anodic oxidation film is colored simultaneously and no need to be dyed again.

Inorganic pigment coloring for aluminium sheets is the use of inorganic salts for coloring, the mechanism of which is physical adsorption, that is, inorganic pigment molecules are adsorbed on the surface of the film pores and filled. Inorganic pigments have good coloring and light resistance, but the coloring hue is not bright, and the binding strength with the substrate is poor. Electrolytic coloring, on the other hand, is realized by electrochemical reaction which reduces the metal ions that enter the pores of the oxide film to metal atoms that further deposit at the bottom of the pores and have the aluminum sheet surface colored. The film layer obtained by electrolytic coloring has good wear resistance, heat resistance, light resistance and corrosion resistance.
