At the very beginning, only 3004 was adopted in aluminum roofing. 3004 aluminum for roofing is made by hot rolling and aging treatment. Its basic thickness is 1.0mm, tensile strength is 300Mpa, elongation is more than 10%, magnesium content is between 1.2-1.5, and manganese content is between 1.3-1.5. These ensure the mechanical properties of 3004 color coated alu coil as roofing aluminum. In comparison, the thickness and tensile strength of 3004 roof aluminum used in China are slightly lower. Some factories even use 3003 as a substitute. When exporting to foreign countries, some manufacturers provide 3003 and 3004 at the same time. As a buyer, you must understand the difference between the two.

The table shows that the tensile strength of 3004 aluminum coil of the same thickness is 45.45%-57.14% higher than that of 3003. The tensile strength of 3004 grade H26 alloy aluminum plate is between 240 and 285. The aluminum-magnesium-manganese roof panel material made of hot-rolled billet can fully reach the elongation rate of more than 10% after aging treatment, which is in line with the requirements of the roof panel. In addition, 3004 has moderate strength, weather resistance, stain resistance, easy bending and welding, and the life span of 3004 color-coated roof panels can reach 50 years. Therefore, 3004 is the first choice for roofing aluminum. However, the price of 3003 is relatively low. In the case of low tensile strength requirements, 3003 can be selected instead of 3004. But be sure to choose high-quality surface paint, such as PVDF.

3004 coil color aluminum is the top choice if your budget is sufficient. If not, you can choose 3003 as a substitute as long as the coil will not be bent hard in further processing of roofing sheets.
