Anodized Aluminum Coil Strip for Home Appliances

March 17, 2025

Anodized aluminum coil strip are widely used in household appliances, mainly because of their excellent physical and chemical properties. Anodized aluminum product has good corrosion resistance, high hardness, wear resistance, insulation, heat resistance and other properties, as well as superb metallic texture and environmental protection and non-toxicity. Anodized aluminum sheet has good processability and is suitable for electrical panels, cabinets, etc.

The product details of anodized aluminum coil strip applied in home appliance are:

– Commonly used alloys: mainly use 5000 series (such as 5052) and 6000 series (such as 6061, 6063) aluminum alloy.

5000 series: magnesium as the main alloying element, with excellent corrosion resistance and processability, suitable for home appliance shells or structural parts that require high strength and weather resistance.

6000 series: Containing magnesium and silicon, with balanced comprehensive performance, commonly used in parts requiring complex molding (such as panels, frames).

– Temper: Commonly H24 (semi-hard condition) or H32 (stabilized condition), balancing molding and strength.

– Substrate Thickness: The thickness of anodized aluminum coil commonly used in household appliances ranges from 0.2mm to 3.0mm, depending on the application. For example, thin plates (0.2~1.0mm) are used for decorative panels, and thicker plates (1.0~3.0mm) are used for structural support parts.

– Anodized film thickness: 3~10μm for general decorative use, hard oxide film up to 20~50μm to enhance abrasion and corrosion resistance.

The core advantages of anodized aluminum coil strip in home appliances include:

– Corrosion resistance: The oxide film isolates the aluminum substrate from the external environment, which can resist corrosion such as humidity and salt spray, and prolong the life of home appliances.

– High hardness and abrasion resistance: the surface hardness reaches sapphire level (HV 400~600), which is not easy to be scratched and suitable for parts with frequent contact (e.g. refrigerator panels, oven doors).

– Aesthetic and decorative: the oxide film can be dyed or retain the original color of the metal, providing matte, glossy and other effects to meet the needs of modern appliance design.

– Easy to clean and anti-fouling: The surface is dense and non-porous, not easy to be stained with oil or fingerprints, and can be cleaned by wiping.

– Insulation and high temperature resistance: Oxide film has low thermal conductivity (temperature resistance up to 1500℃) and good insulation performance, which is suitable for the internal insulation parts of electrical appliances or high temperature environments (e.g. oven lining).

– Environmental protection and fire prevention: no paint or chemical coating, non-toxic and harmless, does not burn at a high temperature of 600 ℃, in line with the safety standards for home appliances.

With its comprehensive performance and cost advantages, anodized aluminum coil strip has become an ideal material for the home appliance industry. Its characteristics perfectly fit the needs of home appliances for durability, safety and aesthetics, and it has a greater potential for application in smart home appliances and green design in the future.
