Aluminum circle and aluminum discs stamping blanks cover 1xxx, 3xxx and 5xxx aluminium sheets and coil rolls. Blanks for discs of 8mm and below can be of coil type, yet those above 8mm must be of sheet type, since 8mm is the maximum thickness of aluminium coil at present. Production lines for the two differ from each other, too. A line for coil blanks includes a decoiling machine which a sheet line doesn’t have. The manufacturing methods for circles of varied diameters might be different as well. The biggest diameter handled by an automatic cutting machine is around 950mm, and if you need aluminum round sheets larger than that, your supplier would adopt aluminum sheet blanks that are to be sliced into circles by a slicing machine.
1xxx aluminum circle blanks are the most popular of the three, for they are cheaper in both raw material and end products. 3xxx and 5xxx blanks, more expensive, harder and more corrosion resistant, are applied to higher end cookware and lamp covers. The two series incorporate manganese and magnesium respectively, both known for good corrosion resistance. 5xxx displays better performances than 3xxx in this regard.
