Alloy and application of anodized mirror aluminum sheet

An anodized mirror aluminum sheet is obtained by polishing and anodizing the surface of a given piece of aluminium sheet. Its alloys include 1050, 1060, 1070, 1100, 3003, 3005, 5052 and 6061. The application scope of the sheet covers construction, labeling, clothing, machines and so on.

The 1000 series is the most aluminum-containing series among all series. The purity can reach more than 99.00%. Because it does not contain other technical elements, the production process is relatively simple and the price is relatively cheap. It is the most commonly used series in conventional industry. Most of the circulation in the market are 1050 and 1060. 1050 is now usually replaced by 1060. 1070 is even softer than 1060. The quality of 1000 series of anodized mirror aluminum sheet pieces are poorest of all.

3000 series aluminum alloys are mainly 3003 and 3A21. China’s 3000 aluminum plate production process is excellent. The alloy metal is manganese, the content of which is between 1.0-1.5, endowing the series with a better anti-rust function. 3003 mirror finish anodized aluminum sheets have a stronger hardness than 1000 series.

5052 is a kind of 5000 series aluminum alloys which also include 5005, 5083 and 5A05 etc. Also called aluminum-magnesium alloy, the magnesium content is between 3-5%. A 5052 aluminum sheet is featured by low density, high tensile strength, high elongation and good fatigue strength. Under the same area, the weight of aluminum-magnesium alloy is lower than other series. The technology of processing 5052 aluminum plates is very mature in China, and the quality of 5 series anodized mirror aluminum sheet is also superior.

6061 mainly contains two alloying elements, magnesium and silicon, combining the advantages of the 4000 series and the 5000 series. Boasting excellent working ability, it is used for applications with high requirements on corrosion resistance and oxidation.

The key difference of an anodized mirror aluminum sheet from other types of aluminum sheets is its special mirror-like surface. This unique feature makes it an excellent material in interior&exterior decoration, electronic product shells, furniture, automobile decoration and so on.
