The maximum thickness of brushed aluminium strips is 4mm, but when we are speaking of aluminium strip 4mm, we generally refer to the width of the strip by 4mm. Most strips are only around 1mm thick, and those of 4mm thick are really rare. 4mm alu strips are very narrow indeed, for most suppliers provide a minimum width of 20mm. Such thin strips are used directly as raw material for end products without being further slit. They can not be made into channel letters or blinds as wider strips are, but into small decorative parts in lighting, bagging, clothing and craft pieces.
