Flexible aluminium trim strip

Flexible aluminium trim strip is a kind of decorative aluminum strips of 0.2mm to 4mm thick, 50mm to 600mm wide and any color you need. A trim strip is a coated, brushed or anodized tape used for plastic composite pipes, cables, venetian blinds, interior and exterior decoration materials etc. The flexibility of the strip is up to its hardness which further relates to alloy and temper. Regular alloys for trim aluminium strips include 1060, 1070, 1100, 3003, 3004, 3104, 5005, 5052 and 6061, the hardness, corrosion resistance and price of which rises successively. Common tempers for them cover H12, H14, H16, H18, H22, H24, H26, O, F, H112 etc.

All of these can be made into trim flexible aluminum strips, and detailed specification is usually based on specific applications. Channel letter aluminium strips, for example, are made of 1000 and 3000 aluminium grades. These strips are usually coated to obtain a stronger corrosion resistance and longer service life outdoors. Hardness, on the other hand, is not a priority for channel letter materials, thus 5000 and 6000 grades are not taken into account. If the strips are used for transformer winding, however, 1060 O aluminium strip would be the best choice. It’s light, flexible, soft and conductive. Harder and more corrosion resistant 5052 and 6061 strips are applied in special conditions that require high in both performances.

A flexible aluminium strip is usually of softer tempers like O, H12, H14, H22 and H24, for harder states reduce the strip’s flexibility.
